"I'm standing in front of the reconstruction of the Globe
Theatre. It's just beginning here. On this very site the
original Globe Theatre where Shakespeare wrote and
performed those classic playes that we love and adore
to this very day..."
May 1993 |

"I'm standing in front of the Anchor Pub. Now, this is a few
hundred metres away from the Globe Theatre we showed
you earlier. There was no changing facilities in the Globe
Theatre for the actors. They in fact used to come here to
this pub, get changed upstairs and they made their way
back round to the theatre to perform. Good old English pub,
if you're ever in town for a pint of beer."

"... so here out in London on a May holiday, and typical
of London may weather, the sunshine has gone. Moving in
to London here, very sort of Charles Dickens kind of
territory, right by the Clink Museum, which was the old
Clink prison. In English we have a slang word for "going
in the clink" which means going to prison, it comes from
this place. This is the Clink, where they used to send
them naughty people."

"We're gonna go off to a commercial break, we have the
highest new entry on the chart this week and of course
the number one and I'll also tell you a very funny story
about that bridge behind me."
May 1993 |

"Behind me in the background is London Bridge: a very
blant, boring looking bridge. This particular bridge is a
new bridge. The old London Bridge now esides in
America, in the Arizona desert. The Americans wanted
to buy London Bridge when they heard it was up for sale..."
May 1993 |

"...They thought, however, they were buying Tower
Bridge, which is the very famous bridge you always see
on London picture postcards, it's got towers at each end
and splits in the middle. They actually bought one who
looked exactly like that and they stuck in in the desert.
They said they knew what they was buying but we all
know her ein England what they really thought they
were getting."
May 1993 |

"... as we're out and about in ondon on this may holiday.
The weather is leaving us, the sunshine has gone..."
